Job Description
CARPENTER
6:00 am - 2:30 pm
INTERNAL BIDDER: must complete an internal application on the district website by 7/15/26 @ 4:00 pm
EXTERNAL APPLICANTS (will hire externally if there are no internal bidders): applications will be accepted until position is filled
Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
- Rate of pay $29.11per hr.
- Performs various carpentry work throughout the District.
- The main responsibilities of this position are roof and window repair.
- Operates power tools used in the Carpentry trade.
- Makes repairs to flooring such as VCT, LVT, carpet, wood and sheet goods.
- Must obtain Asbestos certification within 6 months of employment.
- Must have knowledge of commercial roofing methods and repair, drywall/plaster patching and window repair.
- Operates equipment used in material handling such as hand trucks, carts, dollies etc.
- Occasionally assists in snow removal using a plow truck or dump truck.
- Must be self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision as well as with others as a team member.
- Must possess a valid drivers license and have an excellent driving record.
- All other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV ? Yes ? No)
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Special Qualification Desired: (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)
- Must obtain Asbestos identification/removal certification.
- Must have commercial roof and window repair experience.
