Maintenance
Highland Laboratories
Mount Angel, Oregon 97362

Job Description

About the Role:

As our Maintenance Guru, you're the backbone of our operations, the one who keeps the gears grinding and our facilities from falling apart. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to keep everything running smoother than a greased-up gear in a high-performance engine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, strategize, and act on potential repairs or adjustments needed for our machinery and equipment. You're the one we trust to keep us from falling off the rails.
  • Be the negotiator, the dealmaker, the one who gets us the best bang for our buck with external service providers, parts purchases, and equipment deals.
  • Develop the rulebook for our operations, laying down the law when it comes to maintenance, safety, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Keep our production machinery and equipment in fighting form, minimizing downtime and ensuring we're always ready for action.
  • Keep meticulous records of all equipment maintenance, because an operation without proper documentation is like a tool without a handle.

Additional Duties:

  • Keep our facilities looking sharp and ready for action, from the bathrooms to the breakrooms, and everywhere in between.
  • Put your diverse skills to work, whether it's changing filters, replacing light bulbs, or conducting minor repairs. We're looking for a real jack-of-all-trades here.

Physical Requirements:

  • You'll need a keen eye, steady hands, and the ability to use a variety of tools. You should be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Be ready to bend, stoop, climb, twist, and more. This isn't a desk job, and we need someone who's ready to get their hands dirty.

Work Environment:

  • Be ready for overtime when the heat is on.
  • Be ready to work in an environment that contains all the sights, sounds, and smells of a busy operation.
  • Bring your team spirit, your problem-solving skills, and your ability to follow directions and manage your time.

Job Requirements:

  • Three to five years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong communication skills, because a team that can't communicate is like a wrench without a bolt.
  • Experience with personal computers and various software applications. We're not living in the stone age, after all.
