Overview

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join the MSA team as a Maintenance Mechanic at our Jacksonville, NC plant. This position would primarily be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
  • Perform mechanical and control system set up and changeover of complex automated and semiautomated production equipment.
  • Perform troubleshoot and repair and corrective repair on production and test equipment.
  • Identify and order replacement parts.
  • Make recommendations to management and engineering regarding modifications to maintenance routines, spare parts lists, and troubleshooting guides on the following types of equipment and components: hydraulics and pneumatics, motors and controls, program logic controllers, human machine interface and robotics,
  • Participate in new production equipment commissioning and provide input on routine maintenance schedules based on knowledge and experience
  • Maintain maintenance files and records


Qualifications

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Understand standard/metric units of measure
  • Set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices
  • Lift,carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Proficient use of hand and power tools
  • Read and understand wiring schematics and hydraulic and pneumatic flow diagrams
  • Understand variable speed drivers and electric motors
  • Proficiency with a computer to interact with a computerized maintenance management system
  • Analyze and plan each job in order to determine tools, equipment and materials necessary
  • Effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporaries
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Perform lockout/tag-out as required
  • Proficient with computer software such as Microsoft Office and SAP

Experience and Education Required:

  • Level I
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • 2 years industrial maintenance experience
  • Level II
    • Same educational requirement as Level I AND
    • 5 years industrial maintenance experience
    • Proficient with mechanical or electrical discipline and able to assist with opposite discipline
  • Level III
    • Same educational requirement a as Level II AND
    • 10 years industrial maintenance experience
    • Proficient with mechanical and electrical discipline
